I applied online. I interviewed at Inner City Law Center (Los Angeles, CA)
Interview
I was scheduled for a screening interview via phone call. I received no follow up. When I sent a follow up inquiry, received no response. Seeing at this is a position that will supervise the roles responsible for connecting with applicants, I found it incredibly disappointing. It was an even greater impact when you are a person of color applying at a nonprofit serving communities of mostly POC.

Ambiguous questions with no real direction. Panel phone call for a brief screening.

Interview
I first had a 30-minute one-on-one screener with a legal recruiter. The screener was very chill and asked very easy, straightforward questions like why I was interested in the job. About a week later, I had a one-hour interview with a panel of four attorneys. Each attorney asked a different question.

Question 1
What was a challenge you faced? What are the biggest problems contributing to the housing crisis? What makes you a good candidate for the job?
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Inner City Law Center in Apr 2024
Interview
My interview went well and was told I would know if I got the job within a week or so. However, I was emailed constantly to get my references to answer the questions ICLC sent them. Once they did, I start getting asked for references from my current job or a performance review despite meeting the requirement of providing 3 references.
It was really off-putting for me. They should have asked for references from my current job right off the bat if that's what they wanted. I was also told I'd only have to do one interview, but after providing references I was told I could schedule another interview despite the fact that all of my references had worked with me for multiple years and very recently. I don't know if my references gave bad answers, but I used them as a referral to a similar position at another firm and the firm offered me a job almost immediately. I withdrew my application from ICLC.
It seemed like a decent organization until they started asking for references from my current job.
