Normal design interview rounds. HR, HM, onsite with rounds including portfolio review, 1:1s, whiteboarding, etc. HR is very professional and approachable. Added leadership round also went well. The interview process is standard.
Had a recruiter screening with standard behavioral and logistics questions, which went well and led to a manager round. The manager showed up late, and within the first five minutes of learning I was working on a research project with my professor, he ended the call abruptly without letting me finish explaining the context. I had already disclosed this to HR during screening and clarified that it was weekend work that would not affect the start date or schedule. The lack of communication between the recruiter and hiring manager, and the abruptness of the conversation, made for a frustrating experience overall and left a bad taste about the company.
