      Business Relationship Manager Interview

      27 Aug 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Hamilton, ON
      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at HSBC (Hamilton, ON) in Feb 2019

      Interview

First I had a phone interview which was standard and went well. They immediately talked about salary expectations which struck me as odd but I guess I said the correct number as I made it to an inperson interview which was promptly scheduled. It went well, I followed up, was told I'd have an answer shortly and I was a frontrunner. Then the phone interview guy called me, asked me to interview again for the job an hour away from this location. I said no, it's too far, but I am still interested. He called me the next week, asked me to interview for a different positon (Premier Relationship Manager) even further away, nearly 100km! I was like are you out of your mind? I promptly received a rejection email. One month later, I get a call, "would you like to move on to the next round for the original role you applied for?" I confirmed, he was out of his mind, and said I was no longer interested in working there.

      Business Relationship Manager Interview

      17 Dec 2015
      Anonymous employee
      New York, NY
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at HSBC (New York, NY) in Feb 2012

      Interview

I applied online and had 3 interviews, The 1st interview was by phone and the following 2 interviews were in person. The process took about 2 months. It is a somewhat jumbled process at HSBC as Business Banking has huge turnover of staff and management are often frantically trying to fill heads. Unfortunately they make no effort to retain staff. The only idea of motivation is the stick (or sword over your head)
