I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at HOMER (New York, NY) in Mar 2020
Interview
This was for a position in the New York office. I was referred by a former colleague and filled out an application online.
First step is phone screen, then a take home coding project. The take home gives you the flexibility to choose whatever technology you're most comfortable with. They send you instructions and you set up the application yourself and choose the language, database, etc. It is not timed but if you choose a technology you're comfortable with it shouldn't take longer than 2-3 hours. If you do well in the take home there's an onsite.
At the onsite they ask questions about your background and collaboration skills, how you collaborate with product, and also review your take home assignment - be ready to answer questions about your technical choices and tradeoffs.
The process was pretty straightforward. The talent partner was very communicative and helpful. Everyone seemed really genuine, honest and friendly, and excited about the company and mission. I chose to accept a different offer but Homer seems like a great place to be. They are honest about what they need to work on and are actively trying to change things for the better, which isn't very common at other companies.
