      Sales Consultant Interview

      6 Nov 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Dartford, England
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Goldsmiths (Dartford, England) in Nov 2019

      Interview

Applied for a full time and permanent position. Got called and asked a couple questions about my experience and why I wanted the role and was asked to come for an interview the next day, didn't really ask too many questions as it was more an informal chat however it seemed to be going well. Was then asked to come in the next day for an hour or two as a trial to ensure I liked the role as it is a fairly intense environment. At the end of the trial hour, I was asked how I found the experience and as I liked it I was offered the job on the spot and gave all my details and signed all the paperwork as well as handing over my bank details. After accepting the job, had a call the next day informing me that my role was switching to a temp position for the Christmas period and that I would be starting a lot later than expected, and that there was only a POSSIBILITY of having a permanent position after this period. I later declined the position as I secured a higher paying position, however am still outstanded by the unprofessionalism shown by this company, and can only imagine how unfair it would have been to someone who was offered a job and accepted, and handed in their resignation or declined other job offers only to be told their position was changing. Am also dissatisfied at spending time travelling and conducting the interview for a full time/ permanent position, when they didn't even have this job available or changed their minds later - I would not have wasted my time in the two hour trial either which I'm more annoyed about as I freely worked for two hours without pay. Do not recommend and the pay is not worth either for how expensive the products are
