I applied online. I interviewed at Genesis Energy (Houston, TX) in Apr 2026
Interview
The hiring manager is a very unprofessional person that I would not recommend working for! Please avoid interviewing with this company! I was contacted by a recruiter on a Monday for an in-person interview because “the hiring manager was interested in me after reviewing my resume,” so there wasn’t even a screening. The recruiter was rushing me to interview the next day or Wednesday. So, sensing urgency and wanting to show flexibility, I agreed to a Wednesday interview.
On Wednesday, the Hiring Manager appeared rushed, unable to think and wasn't listening to ANYTHING I said. She had a paper with questions and didn’t write anything down. She didn’t provide a good overview of the position. The interview ended in 5 minutes. Mind you, I didn’t disrespect anyone or give a bad introduction. This company made me commute all the way downtown just to waste my time! There were 100+ applicants, and I don’t even know if they will get the same treatment. This company had the audacity to say, "we'll keep in touch".
the interview went well and in a friendly manner. I was asked about ACCA I've passed and my previous experiences. Inter view was online with no further feedback from hr team
Inept processes and outdated standards. Requiring to be in the office full time downtown while the position can be done remotely, even if partially. Stay away. They provided no interview prep and did not let me know ahead of time about the style of the interview.
