      CTRL Field Manager Interview

      29 Dec 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Frontdoor in Nov 2020

      Interview

This was the most awkward interview I've ever experienced. The interview was virtual of course and I was interviewed by 2 people, 1 who kept referring to himself in third person. They mentioned at the beginning that they wanted this to be more of a conversation than an interview, yet after about 15 minutes in they began drilling me with intense, back to back questions. It was incredibly fast paced and while I'm aware that interviewers are evaluating your compatibility to the role, I felt very judged; almost like a science experiment. I didn't even hardly have time to catch my breath after answering a question before they were asking another one! I was shooting for a position with a salary of at least $80K and was told by the recruiter that this role was paying between $50K-$55K, which was a major pay cut for me but I accepted the interview anyway. These people interviewed me as if this roles salary was $150K+!! The interview definitely did not match the role. They asked extremely personal questions regarding previous employers from over 4+ years ago which I thought was odd. I've had a lot of interview experience from easy going interviews to rather serious and to-the-point interviews, but this was by far the most intense interview I've ever had which is odd for a position paying so little. After I hung up the call I was literally jittery and shaken up. I felt uneasy for the rest of the day because I felt like I was interviewing to join the Marines or something. I hung up knowing that in the event that these people made me an offer, I'd be rejecting it despite being unemployed. I'd much rather keep looking than to have to deal with that type of environment everyday. Seriously this interview went on for over an hour. Typically in that time frame the interviewer(s) may ask you 10 to 15 questions because there is typically dialogue- they ask you a question, you respond, and typically there's some feedback or conversation regarding how your answer ties to the role at hand. I wasn't counting, but I'm pretty confident that these people asked me anywhere from 35 to 40 questions. Again, such an intense interview for a role paying so little was beyond me.

      Question 1

Note: They bombarded me with so many questions that I cannot remember them all *looks at my resume and picks my employer from 8 years ago* What would this employer say about your weaknesses? What would your previous employer say about your punctuality? Pretend you are selling me the pen that's in your hand, and go What does company culture mean to you?
