I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Fred Hutch Cancer Center (Seattle, WA) in May 2023
Interview
- A phone interview with HR (30 minutes). - One hour long second interview with the hiring manager and two other team members. - A request to submit code samples. - I was asked to apply to Biostatistician II/III position. - Another three-hour interview spaced out in four hours with 8 team members. The interviewers we generally nice, I loved the job and the team. I was 95% sure I got the job. Every single interview ran out of time. I received an email that they have filled the position. They did not provide any apology for wasting my time (not even saying that they are sorry to inform me that, lab lab, lab) or provided any reason why I was not hired even though I answered all the questions. The hiring manager mentioned that she is opening another similar position and will keep me in mind, but then asked "what specifically did interest you about the role?" I mean after 4.5 hours of intense interviews, this is not the question you'd want to hear. I feel so mad/hurt, but am glad I am not unemployed at the moment.
