I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Far Bank (Seattle, WA) in May 2024
Interview
Was submitted through recruiting agency. Initial calls before profile submitted to discuss experience. Was selected to interview:
1st call with CTO - 60 min (Jeff). Interim CTO he discussed a bit of the stack and team, the focus in ERP as well as his role.
2nd call scheduled with CFO (Ryan) - he cancelled the call 1 hour and 15 minutes before the scheduled time. They followed up with the recruiter 7 business days later to tell me I wasn't selected.

I applied online. I interviewed at Far Bank in Oct 2019
Interview
I applied for the Web Developer role, and was contacted within a week via email to answer some web development trivia style questions: what's the box model, what's a SPA, etc. I made it through that screening round, and was asked to do a phone interview. I did this interview over the phone with a member of the team -- and honestly, it was the most impersonal conversation I had in my many interviews for software engineering roles. The phone interview started off with 25 min long series of easily Google-able web development trivia questions. No small talk, no opportunity to have a conversation about my responses to the questions - my interviewer simply moved on to the next question after my response. It was very rote, and again, impersonal. I even heard the interview laugh at a few of my responses, which I found highly unprofessional. Once the interviewer finished asking all of their trivia questions, he simply asked if I had any questions for him - without offering up any information about the role or the team. I proceeded to ask about the team, the role, the culture, etc. and it was clear the interviewer was not interested in elaborating about those details with me, and even appeared annoyed that I had questions.
Of course, this is my own personal experience, so take it with a grain of salt. Clearly this person could have had an awful morning, which came out in my interview, but I was truly amazed by how impersonal and unfriendly my experience was with interviewing at Far Bank. I was not surprised I wasn't asked to move forward in the interview process - it was clear my interviewer didn't like me from the start of our conversation.

Question 1
I honestly don't remember a lot of the phone interview questions... they were things like, what's an inner join... what's a database index... questions like that.
