I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at FEI Systems in May 2026
Interview
I completed a long interview process, including travel to an onsite interview paid by the company. I received an offer. My background check cleared, and I completed the required drug-test process, but final results were not available before the scheduled start date. Instead of moving the start date or offering an alternative testing/logistics option, the company rescinded the offer, citing that the drug test was not completed before the start date and “lack of communication.”
Candidates should get every onboarding deadline in writing, confirm whether a pending lab result counts as “incomplete,” and avoid giving notice, relocating, or making commitments until all contingencies are fully cleared.

Question 1
They asked me to implement a test task using Notepad. The technical interviewers were professional, but the HR/onboarding process was unusual and poorly coordinated.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at FEI Systems (Columbia Park, Prince George's, MD)
Interview
3 part interview
2 virtual, 1 in-person
1st interview with HR/Recruiter
2nd interview with Lead
3rd interview with Lead and Manager
Interview process took almost a month and the decision to offer position happened a little over 2 months
I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at FEI Systems in Oct 2025
Interview
Video interview with recruiter. I was advised next step would be with Hiring Manager/team. I was promptly contacted as my experience closely matched the position and interview was scheduled the next day. Interview was pretty basic to the HR Screen. Broad questions; "Tell me about yourself" to more specifics: "Tell me about a challenging time". Wasn't a lot of opportunity to get into detail as it was only 30 minutes and a good portion was an overview shared on the organization. It very much felt like just a screen to make sure experience/salary matched. I felt I hit all relevant marks.
I was told I wasn't moving on about 10 days later. The reason being was that there were a lot of applicants and they had to move quickly. Seemed strange though as I closely matched but as an applicant, you just never know who else is interviewing.
