I was first contacted by a HR for a phone interview. It was a 40 min long interview to go over your skill sets then at the end of the phone interview, She said she will arrange a phone interview with the hiring manager. After the quick phone interview with the hiring manager, I got invited for another round which was a video interview with the director which lasted around 30mins. A few weeks later I got invited for 3 in person interviews. One was with the hiring manager, another one with two directors from product/branding then finally last one with a director of finance. During this interviews, they quized me on charts and asked me logical thinking questions. Lastly, I got invited to have the last round of video interview with a director of Data out of their Head office which was in Seattle. In total I had 7 rounds of interviews but didn’t get the job. I had given my best at each interview. I read the whole case about Expedia and their market. The interviews were really straightforward and everyone was so nice. However, the HR finally got back to me after a multiple attemps and said they decided not to move forward with me because they were looking for someone with a skill set they didnt even state in the job posting nor even brought up during the 7 rounds of interviews. It is pretty unprofessional when companies make huge last minute changes to a job requirement. Candidates are expected to meet all the credentials when they get to the final round of the interviews especially if you were interviewed for 7 times. I had to arrange to work from home 3 times and take a day off to do all the interviews and to hear back that they made a change was really really disappointing. The whole process was very long. I applied for the position in August then all the interviews were done in Mid November.
