Interview
A horrible first impresssion 🚩
Took time out of my day and had to arrange childcare for the interviewer (someone in HR) not to even log in to the teams call. After optimistically waiting her arrival for ten minutes I fired off an email checking I hate the details right and after a further five minutes, I logged off the call.
I heard back shortly after that an urgent meeting had arisen but have never worked anywhere that didn’t have the common decency to fire off a quick one sentence email to say this just before our call was due to start. And the fact that people in that room may have had an issue with someone displaying some basic manners is a major red flag.
Needless to say, despite her suggestion that we’d rearranged, I haven’t heard any more.
When people have made arrangements to meet with you, don’t blow them off like this. So rude and now not somewhere id want to work anyway.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Eminox (Gainsborough, England) in Nov 2021
Interview
Initial interview over Zoom with the Hiring Manager & HR. Usual interview questions about experience, values, examples of x, y & z.
Invited to give a presentation however only given 24 hours notice to write the presentation with the expectation to go to site the morning after the presentation was due to actually present it... I'm not aware of many companies that can accept annual leave requests on less than 48 hours notice. When requesting to delay it took 3 days to respond (just so happened to be until after the original date - maybe a last resort to invite me back in again) but again gave no time to request annual leave - asked at 3pm on Friday to come in at 9am on Monday.
If this is how the company plans interviews then I don't want to know how they can plan manufacturing & projects.
