      Solutions Sales Research Intelligence Interview

      16 Nov 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Washington, DC
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 8 weeks. I interviewed at Elsevier (Washington, DC) in Sept 2021

      Interview

Absolute worst experience of my life. The process went across 5 different interviews with one on one sessions to an eventual group interview where I presented their product. The process was lengthy, arduous, and greatly lacking in communication. At first all my interviews were very quick to get them scheduled but again there were 4 of these so it took a great deal of my time. After the first 2 interviews they have you complete an assessment which takes another 45 minutes of your time. At the completion of the 4 interviews they ghosted me for over 2 weeks. The recruiter told me they had another candidate that they were getting to the presentation stage so this could be conducted at the same time. Once they finally wanted the final presentation scheduled they offered no room for preparation as they also scheduled during fiscal year close for the Fed Gov't (not smart). They provided very little info the prep with and I found myself searching the internet and other places to get to a good knowledge base. After this was completed no call back no email, nothing. I finally had a recruiter reach out and inform me that they decided to go another direction. I can understand not being the best candidate, but I as part of my continual improvement wanted to know why. After investing probably countless hours interviewing and prepping you would think some constructive feedback is a pretty fair ask. When I reached out to those who interviewed me crickets. I checked back later, they went with an internal candidate. I also have no problem with this but why waste my time? Even more so why not just be honest about that? I would highly recommend you steer far far away from this company and this team. In my career I've never experienced a team or a process as unprofessional as this one.
