Pros:
The careers/recruitment team is responsive and professional. They actually reply to candidates and provide feedback, which is rare for a company this size.
Cons:
The entire interview process felt misleading and unprofessional. I was told beforehand that the in-person interview would be a “regular interview” about my experience. However, the hiring manager suddenly threw in a surprise assessment at the start, which had to be completed by end of the interview in 15 minutes. A pen and a diary were given to me to complete the task (in 2025, really?). When I asked for more time, I was told there was a hard stop, so I had to take the assessment home.
The feedback by the team was equally frustrating:
They mentioned there were gaps in knowledge but I was also told I “spoke too fast and the manager was not able to catch everything that I had to say”, The manager never mentioned this during the interview or even cross-questioned if she did not understand something. As an international candidate, English is not my first language, still, I was fluent but holding someone's speed of speech against them without addressing it directly in the moment feels unfair.
I was asked about my 5 year plan, even though I also mentioned I want to become a Head of Marketing/Director of Marketing at a tech company and then have something of my own, the manager failed to mention this to the careers team. Apparently, ambition is a negative here.
Overall:
The careers team may be polite, but the hiring process is disorganised, misleading, and leaves candidates blindsided. If you value transparency, respect for candidates’ time, and fairness, think twice before applying.
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at ESG (Chorley, England)
Interview
One stage interview via Microsoft Teams (optionally could go to the office for the interview). Estimated length of interview was 1 hour and it was led by two managers of the application support teams.

Question 1
Describe one process you improved and how you improved it.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at ESG (Chorley, England) in May 2024
Interview
The interview process consisted of three stages: an initial screening interview to assess qualifications, a technical assessment to evaluate relevant skills, and a final on-site interview to gauge cultural fit, collaboration abilities, and to address any further questions.
As the only candidate in the final stage, I assumed it was merely a formality. After a two-hour journey to the site, I was genuinely impressed by both the company and the individuals I met. I felt a strong alignment with the company’s values and was excited about the opportunity ahead.
However, I was disappointed to learn that, while I was considered a great fit for the role, the business had decided to promote someone internally, rendering the position unavailable. While I respect this decision as a sign of a company that values its internal employees, I had been out of work for eight months at that point and was carefully managing my expenses.
If the company had communicated this intention earlier in the process, it would have been more considerate to avoid asking me to travel, given the associated costs. A remote interview would have been a more efficient option. Overall, this experience left a bitter impression as an internal candidate.
