I applied in-person. I interviewed at Dollar Tree (La Vergne, TN) in May 2011
Interview
There was no interview. I walked in and filled out an application and was hired. The only question I was asked is if I could work any hours. This company has a very high turnover rate. They need a better interview process.
The interview process was minimal and largely informal. The initial conversation with the regional leadership consisted of a brief phone call, and there was limited direct interaction with district management prior to starting. In fact, I did not meet the district manager until after onboarding and training, and did not meet the regional director in person until several months into the role. Overall, the hiring process felt more like a fast placement based on experience rather than a structured multi-step interview process.
Came in and asked for the store manager. He took me into the office and asked a few questions. Questions : Why do you want to work for Dollar Tree? Do you know anyone that works here? How you deal with Multi-tasking? How you deal with pressure?
Got the job. (Mainly through Nepotism).

I applied online. I interviewed at Dollar Tree in Jun 2026
Interview
Even though it was just an initial phone screening, I thought the recruiter was well knowledgeable and professional. He was able to answer all of my questions and really gave me a good insight into who Dollar Tree is as an organization.
