I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Chronosphere in Jun 2022
Interview
I was contacted directly by a Chronosphere recruiter asking me to apply for a senior engineering position. I was already close to the end of my interviewing rounds at several other companies, so they agreed to skip the takehome assessment and move straight to the onsite interviews. I did 3 of these: an architecture interview, a collaboration & ownership interview, and a technical debugging interview. There was also a short chat with the hiring manager. I received feedback that I scored high on the first two interviews but only average on the third one, so they asked me to complete the takehome assessment anyways, after which I also met with the VP Eng. In the end they chose to pass on me, but overall it was not a bad interview experience.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Given this design team mockup of a proposed screen in a web app, how would you structure the frontend architecture?
One of the worst interview experiences I've ever gone through.
In the technical interview a sample code was provided for the given problem. There was ZERO prior communication that the sample code is only available in 2/3 languages. So now, either you are expected to write your code in those languages or you can choose any other language and then also rewrite the sample code, which is not trivial.
I had immediately emailed the HR once the interview happened communicating this feedback.
I got rejected with the feedback that my code didn't even compile, which is totally false. The code didn't print out the correct output but it compiled and ran. And there was no time to debug/solve the issues as a MAJOR chunk of time (about 25-30%) was lost in just trying to convert their sample code from one language to the other.

Question 1
Design an alerting system which checks for monitor values at regular intervals and notifies if the state changes
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Chronosphere (New York, NY) in Feb 2021
Interview
Initially had a screening call with recruiter, then technical screening call with pseudo coding challenge.
They issued a take home assignment and followed up on it during the interview loop which took me by surprise, I didn't have a workspace set up for it.
The main interview loop was system design, culture, coding and high level convo with leadership
Decision came within a few days

Many questions around code sample, around system design related to the code sample, as well as cultural questions around working across time zones and offices.
