I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Chatham Hall (Chatham, VA) in Apr 2014
Interview
The interview process is intense, one-day, and on-site. Everyone meets with faculty, different administrators depending on job being applied for (always including the head of school). You eat meals with students, meet with departments, and teach a lesson if you are looking for a teaching job. Also, there's a campus tour conducted by a student. It's a whirlwind, but effective in getting a good feel for the school in a single day.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
More important than what they asked me was what I was told the students were looking for, which was someone who would stay for more than 1 or 2 years (there had been a lot of recent turnover in my specific job, although turnover was low elsewhere in the faculty).
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Chatham Hall (Chatham, VA) in Apr 2011
Interview
They took me on a tour of the school before I was passed around to different department heads based around the area I was applying. I met the Rector, Chief Financial Officer, and Department Head. At one point I was shown into a drawing room where other members of the community (teachers, students, etc) could meet and speak with me to learn more about my interest in the position.
