I applied online. I interviewed at Back Market (Paris) in Oct 2020
Interview
I applied online in September 2020.
1. I first had a phone screening with the recruiter (30-40 minutes) where we talked about the job description, my background and potential fit
2. Received an email shortly thereafter telling me I was on for an interview with the COO a week later
3. Interview was COO was more of an open discussion about the company vision and plan, which I very much appreciated.
4. I then had a follow-up call with the recruiter to check on how the interview had gone, and then was booked me on an interview with the Director of Supply. Also asked me whether I wanted to do the data case study before or after my next interview -I chose to do it after.
5. Had an interesting interview which ended by the interviewer saying that we would definitely speak again later after I would have completed the test/case study.
6. Then it kinda went on radio silence for 3 weeks before I heard from the recruiter again. I was first asked whether I was interested in carrying on with the hiring process -to which I replied I was- before being told that actually, other candidates were better suited for the position blablabla. In hindsight, I thought it was both a bit weird and very different from the rest of the hiring process which had been mainly ok. But what would you ask a candidate if they're still interested in applying if you know you're going to reject their application.
That's the main reason why I thought this was overall a negative experience.

Question 1
What could we do to decrease the churn of sellers on our platform?
We are very sorry to read your comment. Recruiters should get back to candidates within 48hrs and update them on the status of their application. We'll communicate about the issue internally.
We are sorry it went wrong for you, we very much appreciated your time and motivation.
