      Interview

On the othe hand, the most positive thing I would expect in the interview process is communicating clear expectations and the structure of the interviews ahead of time: does the technical session include colloquial theory questions or is it just coding, is the coding session a build-me-something or a LeetCode problem, is it just medium LeetCode or should I expect hard ones, is it one problem or two, is it one hour or 45 minutes, is the system design front end or back end focused, will the behavioral session include anything technical or not, etc

      Question 1

After the phone call I met the team in person (pre-covid) and had 1:1s with each person on the team that I would have direct interactions with. (PM, Designer, Lead Engineer). During the 1:1s I was asked questions like, “how do you like to work”, “how do you like getting feedback” etc. In the 1:1 with the engineer we pair programmed and the engineer was doing the coding. The task was to create a game of black jack in JS. No UI just returning results of the game. This was nice and I could focus on explaining what needed to be done vs being nervous and trying to remember things on the spot. We built the game out pretty quick, 15-20mins tops. After each 1:1 I had a call with the CEO and had a chance to ask questions. I ended up getting the job and had a wonderful experience working with that team.
