      Extrusion Operator Interview

      27 Aug 2021
      Anonymous employee
      Concord, NC
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Americhem (Concord, NC) in Sept 2018

      Interview

I applied through a recruiter. I was given an offer only two days afterwards, which I did accept. I was hired in October of 2019. The hiring process took roughly 4 weeks. Interview was probably the best I'd ever had. I interviewed with the plant manager and the shift supervisor. One thing to note is that they didn't ponder too much on topics I feel are irrelevant, and stuck to the important topics such as what I do in my free time (since I do mechanical hobbies outside of work as well) and my past experience as an extrusion operator. They also asked me about previous safety precautions, startup/shutdown procedures, preventative maintenance procedures, and specific PPE. They explained what was expected from me as an operator, and told me about some of their specific procedures. The shift manager was straight forward and honest, even explaining to me what he admired and enjoyed most about his role, and what he didn't. I felt comfortable the entire time. When I was shown the production floor, it was notable extremely clean and well organized.
