      Software Engineer III Interview

      18 Jun 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Advisor360°

      Interview

Recruiter reached out to me for a phone interview, then met with a technical manager for discussion, and ended with a coding interview with senior developers. I have to say I don't really find code challenges/assessments to be useful beyond entry level. I think they’re kind of insulting actually. I wouldn't have slogged through a four-year degree and years of experience if all I needed to do was a bootcamp and solve some random competitive coding problem in 25 minutes. I'd probably be working for FAANG in that case. I did cheekily flip the interview back on them asking how the question was relevant to the job, and it was kind of funny watching them struggle to answer it to my point. Also advised me to grind more leetcode after the interview negating the fact that perhaps candidates have homes, kids, or other full-time jobs to deal with. Regardless, I just politely declined to solve it. Feels like they're missing out on people because of that third interview, but that's just my opinion.
