The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Advanced Design Technology in Sept 2021
Interview
The process in my case was just an interview asking for a presentation on my background. They asked questions on my projects, what were the difficulties and challenges and how I overcome them
The process consisted of a 15 minute presentation detailing my relevant experience. There was also a Q&A session with the COO (Lorenzo Bossi) and another team member. I presented the preliminary studies I had performed in my first year PhD studies.
Mr Bossi is one of the rudest, most disrespectful people I have ever met. After I finished my presentation detailing some of the work I had done, he proceeded to belittle the work in a very unconstructive manner. His exact words were, "This would be fine for a Master's student, but not for a PhD." I was taken aback by this, as I have not heard anything along these lines from the company sponsoring me, nor my supervisor.
When I discussed some potential directions I would like to take my research in, he disregarded my ideas as "no good". He also proceeded to compare the work I had done in less than a year's study to what the company (with all their staff and researchers) had done in nearly 20 years.
I did not hear back from the company regarding an opportunity, so I believe it is safe to assume I did not get the position. However, I believe it was a blessing in disguise. If a company could have someone so discourteous in such a high position, then those in higher positions in the company must not have good relations with their employees.

Question 1
Why did you proceed with your research in this manner?
I applied online. I interviewed at Advanced Design Technology
Interview
After my CV was reviewed I was asked to produce and email a presentation on Turbomachinery design, testing and analysis. Sometime later I was asked to present this to the company; either in person, or as a video interview (choice was mine). I chose to present mine in person. Technical questions were asked throughout my presentation, then some CV based ones afterwards.
