I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at AMC Entertainment (Chula Vista, CA) in Nov 2013
Interview
I was hired on as a seasonal employee, and after a performance evaluation at the end of season, I was hired as a regular employee. The interview was formal but at the same time pretty relaxed. I was mostly asked questions regarding sales, because the company is seeking more employees that have the ability to sell memberships and upsell products.

Process is fairly easy. If they're interested in your online application, they do a phone screening. If you do well on that one, they call you in to do an interview for the specific theater. Most of the questions are personality based. They do have you have you pitch AMC Stubs just to get a feel of how you'd present it to customers. Not sure why someone said people get hired on the spot as I never came across a crew member that got hired immediately, even if they were short staffed. Typically it takes a couple days before they give you a response.
