Pros
The interview process felt relevant to the role and moved along at a decent pace.
Cons
The onboarding was a terrible experience. The comms and action items from HR came in multiple different emails, with tasks in various portals and platforms, which made it confusing to follow. For the actual onboarding process, I received positive feedback throughout only to be abruptly fired via a form email ("your position has been deactivated") at the end of my 2-week onboarding period. I started my onboarding a couple days late because all of their emails go to spam (a known issue -- but the email where they warn that their messages might go to spam ALSO went to spam). Unknown to me, they started onboarding 3 days prior to the start date they communicated to me when I was hired. When I was able to find the emails and realize they had started early, I immediately began my tasks. I finished them within two weeks from my formal start date, though two days after the surprise early start date which I was unaware of. When I reached out to ask for feedback after the unexpected termination, I received feedback that my work had been quality and showed care for the students (what I had been told throughout), but that my time management was an issue. Honestly, what a mess from an HR perspective -- the very thing I was hired to teach. I feel like I dodged a huge bullet with this institution, as rigidity without flexibility and lack of care for context are not aligned with my personal values as an educator or HR professional.
