Pros
Great benefits and pay.
Friendly colleagues who were willing to help and support when needed.
HRs were friendly and willing to listen alongside clearly communicating and even helping with larger tasks.
Easy to learn and great mentoring from staff.
Most of the time efficient delegation of tasks.
Cons
HRs while friendly didn’t always feel understanding and some felt less empathetic, especially when making requests for shifts or tasks.
Sometimes felt most tasks were being pushed onto me rather than spread out, colleagues admitted that the new employees get the hardest or least desirable tasks.
Due to the time of year, it was extremely busy but sometimes it did leave me struggling to complete tasks when colleagues were busy doing other things. Sometimes left on self-checkout alone when it’s busy therefore or trolley returns. Usually dealt with when mentioned over the headset but extra hands or better management of who did what would’ve helped.
Often given difficult shift patterns such as the late finishes and early starts consecutively, leading to difficulty having enough sleep or energy.
