Hang in there partner. It's likely not your fault. I went through a stretch of getting fired in my early 20s aswell until I ended up working for a company for 18 yrs.
You ain’t the the only one man I got fired for having the FLU and I have a family to feed I feel like a looser on a daily basis
We shall not give up
You're not doing anything wrong. Depending on what state you reside in, you're an 'employee at will' or a 'right to work.' Meaning that employers can terminate you with/without cause. They are not obligated to tell you the reason(s). Take advice of clichés with a grain of salt. Don't fall into the trap of 'making yourself over to [fit] into a job.' All you can do is show up and present yourself as best as you can. If they want to hire you, they will (sorry if this sounds like clichés). Most employers know that people are desperate for a job, given the current economy and they believe that they have the upper hand, unfortunately, they do. Control what you can (you) and let things fall as they may.
Just because a state is an "at will" state, doesn't mean they can fire people for any reason. Even in an at-will state, it is against the law to terminate your employment if the motivating factor is: Discrimination: Firing you based on protected characteristics like race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy), national origin, age (40 or older), or disability. Retaliation: Firing you for reporting illegal practices, sexual harassment, safety hazards, or wage theft (e.g., filing an OSHA or EEOC complaint). Protected Leave: Terminating you while you are legally exercising your rights under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) or taking military leave. Refusing to Commit Illegal Acts: Firing you because you refused to break a law on behalf of your employer. Exercising Labor Rights: Firing you for discussing your wages with coworkers or participating in union organizing. Common Law Exceptions Depending on your exact jurisdiction, there are a few common-law protections that further limit at-will employment: Implied Contracts: If the company handbook or your job offer explicitly promises "just cause" termination or states you will only be fired after specific disciplinary steps. Public Policy: Protects employees from being fired for fulfilling legal obligations (like taking mandatory jury duty).
Dude I got laid off cuz I smoke weed at home so keep your head up you'll find another job
New here
I got fired today 😒
You got fired because you are a "liability", and that's okay. 1. "You cannot please everyone; control the things you can control." ~Suncha Ferreira (Victus Group)/Mark 8:36, Matthew 13:12 • "If you feel guilty, and worry about not being a good person, then it's a sign that you are a good person. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise; bad people don't think about such things, and justify themselves as righteous." ~Suncha Ferreira/Psalm 51:17 2. The grass withers, the flowers fade, because the breath of the Lord blows upon it; surely the people are grass. The grass withers, the flowers fade, but the word of our God stands forever. (Isaiah 40:7-8) 3. The world hates liabilities, and would rather they not exist, as much as the rules dictate that all life is inherently valuable. (Proverbs 25:17) • Even in a community of liabilities, there is no place for a liability. (John 15:18) 4. You cannot experience death, for it would be like getting put under anesthesia. (Ecclesiastes 9:5) 5. Suicide is not a sin which leads to hell (separation), but rather, it is unbelief. (John 3:16-21) 6. Despite all that you do to make your exit foolproof, there is always that one percent chance you'll survive simply because it "wasn't your time yet”. (Psalm 33:10-11) Therefore, as much as I desire to live, and that a world without me would be awfully dull and grey, this isn't up to me; if I die, I die; though my father, mother, and the whole world forsake me, the Lord will bring me up. (Esther 4:11, Psalm 27:10)
You have every right to know why you have been let go, was there any process followed like documented 1:1 about performance? Were there any offline conversations ?
I'd like to help, but you haven't given much information. Did they provide any information at all about why they let you go? Probably not, but try to remember anything you can about comments from managers. Try to learn from any negative feedback that you do get. Concierge would be a high pressure job that would expect you to jump in with little to no training and get it right the first time. There weren't be much (if any) room for a learning curve. Sometimes even asking questions on any kind of front desk/gatekeeper or assistant-style position will annoy management (unfair, but still true). Concierge is like a personal assistant for the every person in the hotel (or sometimes company). That's a big ask. If you want to stick with it, I can tell you that good eye contact, smiles, a fantastic short term memory and incredible organizational skills are a must in order to be successful. It might not be the right fit for you. Since you're struggling, it might be worthwhile to work for a temp agency for awhile to get a feel for what you do and don't like and where you do and don't thrive. Once you know, you can ask for temp-to-hire positions as a way in. Best wishes on finding something you can succeed with and not hate. :-)
Im 33 and I kept getting fired to lol is all good
How you even landing 6 jobs in one year?
Lots of companies are cutting costs to save on expenses and your concierge role would be one of the first places to look. I highly highly doubt that it’s anything personal. Can you take your experiences and skills to look to a different field such as customer service? That’s a job that’s a bit more stable.
The main reason of this kids of problems is in side employees those gives wrong feedback or information to management and take seriously and it's happened. But management never confirmed to person oe check is this true they trust blindly on seniors. This is not end of life.
Did you ask why you were being let go from any of these positions?
