I think the distinction here is that AI cannot do these things YET. We all know of AI's current limitations, I think we are apprehensive about the potential of AI in the next few decades. And given the behaviors of employers (reducing teams and implementing AI as much as they can), I don't think anyone is overthinking so much as responding to the reality of the situation before us.

He is spot on. I now have 6 months in the backlog instead of 24 months. I can revisit those authentication refactors, App migrations, additional form fields, validation rules, end to end tests, that i had no time to get to
AI is still a reason people are getting let go
