Why does Deloitte get so much hate?
I was just terminated from the deals group. I’ve let myself go in terms of my health and weight. I figured I’d use a good chunk of the severance time to get in shape over the summer and focus on my health but my friends and family are pushing me to find a way to juggle both and call me crazy for taking my time. My plan is to build a morning routine of fitness and work that into my new schedule when I’m rehired. Any thoughts ?
How much better did your WLB get after leaving consulting? I’m moving to an internal strategy role at a client. Financial Services - Banking. In consulting - standard day was closing my laptop between 9pm - 10pm and eating dinner at my desk. I’m expecting industry to be better, but not that much. Maybe closing my laptop between 6pm - 7pm? I haven’t been able to ask anyone in the bank what it’s like, as this is a new team. I’m benchmarking on other client strategy offices.
About to be a Senior 3 in people consulting at EY. Unsure when I’ll get to manager (EY seems to be not promoting as many rn). Offer from grant thorton offering me 20k more than I make now. Asking for a signing bonus as well. They’re building a new change management practice. Should I go?
Does anyone else cringe a bit when they see a former intern, or similar, have “ex-BCG”, “former Bain”, “PwC alum”, etc. on their LinkedIn headline? I don’t like it generally, and I don’t feel like an intern even counts. I truly hope it helps someone get a job, just cringy.
Didn’t get promoted and thinking of leaving Deloitte for the next level at Guidehouse. It’s a title bump so I would get a raise, but I’m trying to weigh the opportunity cost of going to a “lower tier” firm known for more niche services. Has anyone else been in this situation and what did you choose? Would this limit my exit opps?
Same reason Tom Brady gets hate. Because they are literally the greatest of all time and people are upset that nothing will ever peak them
Most non-technical managers behave as they are the smartest technically when all they know is zilch !!
Doesn’t speak for everyone by any means, but there TENDS to be a trend where people at Deloitte are more arrogant and identify more strongly with their employer than others in B4 that do the same thing. And once that trend appeared, you’ll notice people say “always Deloitte” anytime another instance occurs. There are great people at Deloitte, and there are people that absolutely exhibit the attitude you see here. It’s exaggerated, but the personas are sourced in some ounce of truth
D5 and the answer is "yes, I construct civilization"
Because KPMG asked for a break
The thing about kpmg is that you will find that they don’t care what others think. I happen to love them
Deloitte acts like they are McKinsey. It’s the state school that acts like an ivy. So people make fun 🙂
D is so f'ing hard bro, you have no idea just how hard Deloitte is
I’m allowed to hate. I worked there.
If an accountant were a silverback gorilla, he would work for Deloitte. There's your answer.
💪 Sigma 💪
Have you ever met someone who works at Deloitte?
I was a Partner at Deloitte after 20 years and all I can say is look over your shoulder. Slalom is coming. Such a cool organization and growing fast.
And KPMG lol
BILLION $ CONSULTING TEAM
Deloitte is a cult. Source: ex-deloitte
It's like sibling rivalry. No one's taking it seriously, but if you can't make fun of other big 4, then what's the point of even working here?
Nobody hates Deloitte, everyone here hates KPMG
The hate comes from them thinking they are MBB. And they are not, been there.
Idk but Accenture no diffs every firm besides MBB
Accenture is a body shop.
It’s less hate and more pity…
