People being let go bc of comparing performance against peers is bs. upgrading the team? how come other rigorous fields (investment banking, medicine, Big Law, oil & gas engineering, trading firms, etc) don’t feel the need to do this, yet they have the right people the teams need every year 😂 consulting isn’t the most rigorous/difficult/or prestigious career. just say it’s for the greed of the firm, at the cost of unempathetically uprooting employees lives & at least you’ll be honest.
Do you find that your team members in India take more sick days than US? On my team in the US, we work from home if we get a cold but are generally still able to work. Being too sick to work happens to each of our US team maybe 1-3 times a year. My team in India takes 1-2 sick days per month. Are they actually too sick to work and that level of illness is more common? Or is there a cultural difference that you don't work if not feeling well?
I spent some time at Deloitte and hated it for many reasons. I have an offer on the table with KPMG and wondering if the culture there is any better. Any insights from someone who worked at both?
Didn’t get promoted and thinking of leaving Deloitte for the next level at Guidehouse. It’s a title bump so I would get a raise, but I’m trying to weigh the opportunity cost of going to a “lower tier” firm known for more niche services. Has anyone else been in this situation and what did you choose? Would this limit my exit opps?
About to be a Senior 3 in people consulting at EY. Unsure when I’ll get to manager (EY seems to be not promoting as many rn). Offer from grant thorton offering me 20k more than I make now. Asking for a signing bonus as well. They’re building a new change management practice. Should I go?
And not for higher cost per oz/gram/lb than larger sizes!
Move to Europe
Like what? Stop buying packaged crap. Fruits and veggies come in any size you want !
Shop at Asian markets. They sell by weight. None of this packaged crap
I was excited when milk was sold in quart but i still can’t get through it the 6 days a pay period i am home.
Ever buy lettuce M2? Always wilts 😖
Eh? Where are you shopping? What is smaller than one apple, one carrot, one head of broccoli?
Started Appreciating this when I was in Sweden for a year. Idea of doin buying milk in 2 days vs 2 Weeks was a huge diff.
Would you like apples to be sold in halves, oranges to be sold in slices, and yogurt cups in 2 oz sizes? Perhaps you lack real problems
Hey lettuce guy, try whole romaine lettuce. Lasts for weeks. Also, folks, if you are single and concerned about this, you are spending too much time in your house, and, maybe, not quite doing this single thing right
A1. No. Only spinach.
