A little bit of a rant: I was holiday shopping at the mall and was overwhelmed with the amount of people purchasing item from high end luxury stores. My salary would be in the top 5% of individual earners but I would feel anxious making purchases at high end luxury stores. Where are these people getting the money from and how are you so chill about making such high end purchases? P.S. this is not work related but I would like to rant like this on some app which is not abt work. PlsRecomend?

      Surviving A Toxic Workplace

Please do not get a job at Goodwill. Whatever you do, I have never been treated like this in my life. There’s been many cases of sexual harrassment between almost ALL of the women working there (single or married) and I finally went to my boss, who were ALL females, but nobody had my back. They actually had HIS back. Saying he was “new here and just wanted to make some friends” I will never understand how it got so bad. I called HR and they never even called me back!!

For 10 years, at a company I worked at, HR sent to every employee charity donation paperwork having us either donate a percentage of our salary per paycheck, or a one time donation that had to be above a certain amount. There was an option not to donate. But we had to sign that we chose not to donate, which would also be recorded as part of our permanent employee records. It was mandatory for all employees to fill out this paperwork once a year. https://youtube.com/shorts/tfBpOpA_nDs?si=lSg5X9O5OOiqWEB7

      Salaries In Sales

      Vice President Sales
      8mo

Question for the veterans… My company recently went through a massive transformation and I’ve been tasked by the Board to build the sales department from scratch. We sell B2B and have a team of 3 people. My team has been complaining that the old set up didn’t incentivize selling, which I agree and I want to create a compensation scheme to reward the team members that are selling above target. How would you structure this? What % of salary should be bonus? How much % of sales would make sense?

      Jobs in Government

While many are drawn to the civil service by the promise of stability and benefits, the true professional treasure lies in a hidden asset: an unparalleled opportunity for professional networking. This is a benefit that goes beyond a steady paycheck, offering a rich tapestry of connections from top management to the most junior officers. However, this opportunity comes with a caveat. Its value depends entirely on an individual’s ability to navigate the unique conditions of government work.

Goodwill is great and all, but don't expect fair pay. It's definitely a boys club when it comes to money. Had a male lead get promoted to agm he had his pay and compensation changed same day by the district manager, I was promoted to his lead position was told My pay wouldn't be changed until training was completed for the position here I am a month in as a supervisor, still no pay increase reflecting on my pay checks.

Although Goodwill overall does good work on providing opportunities for those with barriers, the only means of doing so is by making sure that Sales Goals are always met or exceeded. That puts strain on persons with already heavy burdens in life both mentally and physically. Overall a good place to start working, once you get your feet wet it is best to look into other industries.

We're supposed to do the office secret Santa gift exchange tomorrow, and I haven't purchased the gift yet. I guess what's holding me up is that I drew the name of the person I HATE the most in the office. Is it wrong to spend way under the spending limit on this person? What if I purchased them some hygiene products? She doesn't smell the best, so I feel like soaps, deodorant, and scented lotions could be a thoughtful gift?
