How is Accenture compared to big 4?
A friend who wants to enter accounting was going to get a master's. I think they just need an associate or accounting hours to supplement bachelor's degree. Thoughts?
How do you spend your bonuses if its north of 10k?
Is the CPA still worth getting?
When your office hosts an after hours event, do you go? I hate our happy hours, but I know showing my face will help my chances at getting promoted.
Finance and tech sectors are cutting new hire classes in half meanwhile accounting firms are paying new hires as much as experienced hires. This inability to think dynamically or forward is why accounting firms get no respect in the marketplace. Just a bunch of old boomers who run everything based on accounting outcomes (history), not ongoing operations (future).
For Advisory, Accenture is among the cream of the crop. They don’t have an Accounting arm (we all know why) but they may be trying to partner with one of the Big 4 to provide those services.
Any @Arthur Andersen fish offering a referral
Accenture doesn’t do accounting, Big 4 (except for Deloitte) focuses a lot on accounting although we do have advisory/consulting arms, but all Big 4’s are trying to shift away from accounting towards consulting since it is more lucrative by the hour. Accenture is obviously better than Big 4 (except Deloitte) on the consulting side, especially technology/IT related consulting. I say except Deloitte because ~50% of Deloitte’s revenue comes from consulting, and it is in fact one of the best consulting agencies. However, Big 4’s strategy arms (Monitor, Strategy&, Parthenon) are better than Accenture’s strategy department.
One step up in my opinion. The tax/audit side of B4 is honestly what is dragging us behind.
Lol
How is it in terms of WLB?
Internal audit
I know two employees there. One got a DUI a couple years before getting hired and the other is very socially awkward. I feel like the vault ratings might even overstate them. Imo anyone who puts them above the big four is just wrong. They aren’t really a leader in anything.
The point is I know 2.0 GPA alcoholics that drive drunk then get hired by Accenture. I’m not saying it’s representative of the whole company, but if that’s the floor, that’s much lower than anything I’d expect the big four to accept.
