Position Overview:

StepStone is looking for a Business Analyst in alternative asset management, that will be involved in a broad range of tasks from data collection, data reconciliation, data analysis to visualisation and client reporting. You will be developing tools and procedures to process the data in an efficient and scalable manner, always keeping an eye on the overall quality of the output.

Essential Job Functions:

The position requires a hands-on, proactive, and highly detail oriented individual. Specific activities include:
  • Maintain, develop and enhance reporting functionalities (Internal and external)
  • Data collection, reconciliation and reporting
  • Analyse and process business data to address ad-hoc requests
  • Constantly identify areas for improvement
  • Support your colleagues in developing solutions
  • Coordinate projects with other people
  • Ensure consistent documentation of tasks, tools, processes and interfaces
  • Support other people within the team during absences
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor/Master degree from a top-tier college or university
  • 5 years’ equivalent work experience in finance industry or engineering
  • Programming skills (like Matlab, T-SQL, VBA) Preferred
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Demonstrates commitment and attention to detail, even in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Highly motivated with a passion for the industry
  • Experience in programming is definitely an advantage
  • Passion for fast-paced learning, especially in a technology-enabled environment
  • Good analytical skills with a flair for processes as well as excellent IT skills
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel
  • Experience within the industry is preferred
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing priorities and in ambiguous situations
  • Positive, can-do attitude and independent work style; reliable and committed
  • Proactive person with high quality standards and a sense of responsibility
  • Ability to work independently, and to set priorities according to the company’s needs
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Takes initiative and ownership of responsibilities assigned
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
