JOB DESCRIPTION – Business Analyst (Dublin)
Department: Implementation
Reports to: Director of Operations, EMEA
Location: Dublin, Ireland
Employment Type: Full-time Permanent

Under the direct guidance of the Project Manager and with the mentorship of senior technical staff, the Business Analyst will be responsible for platform configuration of client systems in the execution of all levels of project work. This role works in close collaboration with the Systems Solution Architects (SSA), Sr. Business Analysts (SBA), the Project Manager (PM), and the Development team, to ensure project deliverables and project timelines are achieved. This is a highly technical, client-facing role.

Our software is unlike anything you will have worked on before which is why we will provide comprehensive training to help you succeed. Our training includes one-on-one and team training in order for you to learn the functionality of the platform and the ability to create complete client system from start to finish. There will also be a library of coursework available to aid in your learning.

Responsibilities
  • Interact with clients to capture and document project needs to build system configuration requirements. Determine the best approach for client systems based on the client Statement of Work (SOW) requirements.
  • Collaborate and obtain guidance on the design of client systems from the SSAs or SBAs in the course of work. Seek approval for system changes/modifications prior to commencing any configuration work.
  • Review and test configured system functions to ensure adherence to client requests and SOW requirements.
  • Conduct detailed troubleshooting of client systems to help solve client issues. Escalate issues to the Project Manager or Development team, as necessary.
  • Provide answers to clients by identifying problems; researching reported issues; guiding clients through corrective steps through phone or written (email) correspondence, as necessary.
  • Assist with performing integrated system testing when new features are applied to a client system.
  • Flag and report potential problems or out-of-scope requests from clients to the Project Manager.
  • Occasional travel is a requirement for this position, the ability to easily travel within the U.K. is a must.
  • Other project related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Ability to grasp concepts quickly with strong analytical and problem solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • Clear, concise and effective communication ability.
  • Working knowledge of databases, data modelling concepts & best practices. Ability to read a data model & perform data mapping.
  • Experience with application configuration within a project environment e.g. configuration of fields, creation of workflows, tweaking, implementation. Full project lifecycle (conception to production).
  • 2 – 3 years’ experience with granting in the not-for-profit sector, an asset.
  • Basic knowledge of ‘Software as a Service’ solutions (SAAS) and experience of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment to achieve project goals.
  • Basic knowledge of Java, JavaScript, HTML, XML and CSS a definite asset.

      The training resource is limited, and the workload can get really heavy. However,, you will be able to learn a lot out of it.

      - Superior product that has great potential and isn't restricted to certain industries and markets. Company has a positive outlook and is moving into its high-growth phase, looking to scale and expand.
      - Open work atmosphere with a startup mindset/culture keeps people engaged. Good ideas and individual input are valued and listened to.
      - Great people culture - people are smart, very open, and friendly. Workforce is very diverse and inclusive.
      - Company believes in work-life balance. Overtime has been minimal.
      - Great leadership team: highly involved in daily operations; easy to access and communicate with; candid and don't like to be bogged down in politics/bureaucracy; act on good ideas swiftly.
      - Lots of opportunity to develop both technical and non-technical skills. Company is open to lateral career moves.

      Cons

      - Compensation is not top tier. Benefits package is so-so.
      - Smaller company so limits to upward mobility depending on your role.
      - Need more structured and periodic training for technical roles.
      - Internal processes sometimes too ad-hoc and need to be more structured.
