We’re very proud to announce that Wasim Collins, Learning Coach for Coach Core, has been shortlisted as Educator of the Year at the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Heroes Awards 2025! This recognition highlights the phenomenal impact Wasim has had on young people through his work with Coach Core. Known for his passion, empathy, and innovative teaching methods, Wasim is truly a hero for so many apprentices, inspiring them to overcome challenges and reach their full potential. With 43 apprentices supported in the North East, 77% have successfully completed their programmes—far surpassing the national average. Wasim’s work often involves supporting young people facing homelessness, mental health struggles, and gang involvement. More than an educator, he is a mentor who fosters trust, confidence, and hope.

This week our Internal Communications Manager switched on their out of office to spend time at 2000trees Festival speaking to people about the bystander effect as a volunteer for Safe Gigs For Women. The charity works with venues, promoters, artists and gig-goers across the UK to fight sexual assault and harassment at live music events to help make the music scene a safer and more inclusive place for everyone. This includes all women, while also being supportive of non-binary people and people of other genders. Festivals and gigs are where life-changing moments happen and no one should ever feel unsafe, uncomfortable or uncared for when enjoying live music - whether they’re watching the bands or working behind the scenes. Thanks to Lifetime Group's volunteering programme our people get to spend time actively in the community on causes that are important to them.
