I worked at Workday for less than a year

    Pros

Amazing culture! Foosball, NERF guns, pool and table tennis are everyday stuff here. A lot of return offers, and some really relaxed people and management. Intern program is pretty big, so it can seem a little disorganized from the Engineering Manager side of things.

    Cons

Language they use is very limiting. I wouldn't recommend if you're going into senior year. I haven't had much trouble with internship seeking, but there is no way this is transferable to a full time role. Although Workday would be a good place to work after graduation. Also, Pleasanton isn't great.

    Pros

Fast Paced, Fantastic Culture ,Customer Focussed Leadership is approachable, Technology is niche and time to market for new applications / features is fast. Teams really look out for each other and are challenging the status quo daily. Management is approachable and is open to suggestions from everyone.

    Cons

At times it's hard to maintain the culture at the speed at which the company is growing.

I have been working at Workday full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - Great company culture - Fantastic people (not your stereotypical engineering recluse or tech bro) - Unlimited PTO, and they mean it - Regular raises based on performance - Active leadership development and a drive to see you succeed in whichever path you choose - 401k match coming soon - New HQ places Workday on par with any of the top Bay Area tech companies (cafeteria, gym, etc.)

    Cons

Overall, my main complaint is that their total compensation is not on par with the other major tech companies in the Bay Area. The major downside of being a software application developer is working in a proprietary language called XpressO, which has little obvious carryover to other languages as it is done entirely in the UI - no line by line coding. However, the basic ideas of programming and software structure are strengthened, and there is a shift toward a more conventional programming language in the works.

I have been working at Workday full-time for more than a year

    Pros

You know what you are working will have a large contribution to the company and to the overall benefit of our customers. With the new continuous development model we see our impact in as little as 2 weeks from when we developed it.

    Cons

The company is growing so quickly and we are constantly trying to make our products better so sometimes the technology might change faster than we know how to adapt to it.
