I have been working at Welocalize full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Friendly work environment and very nice company culture. You get full support from the management and the HR team, they are very quick to respond to any query. Definitely the most approachable management team I've ever worked with! There's also great career development opportunities and a chance to learn if you're interested. Good benefits package (including relocation package) and work/life balance.

    Cons

No parking provided for on-site teams.

    Advice to Management

For your on-site teams, try to do something at least on a monthly basis to make them feel like a part of Welocalize more, like snacks on a payday or something similar to what they have in Dublin office. Other than that, keep doing what you're doing, the employees are happy and feel like they have your support 24/7.

I worked at Welocalize full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Good salary, with good benefit options.

    Cons

Very bad management and human relations. Employees are treated like disposable garbage. They kept us on a constant climate of fear, always threatening us with dismissal, behind fake smiles. So much gossip going around, it felt like a soap opera. Managers promoted ladder climbers who would do anything to get ahead. Zero career opportunities for competent employees, many career opportunities for sheep. Many dismissals... under completely false and ridiculous claims with no grounds whatsoever. This may have to do with the manager herself, who was a complete disaster as a human being. (Client also didn't help, as they seemed to be equally very poor excuses for human beings.) Very disappointing experience.

I worked at Welocalize full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Relocation support, possibility of employee-paid health insurance and pension scheme

    Cons

Bad management, lower salaries, micromanaging, constant threat of dismissal, no prospects of career development, inconsistent and contradictory information. People come from their home countries, rent houses, and can be fired on the spot, with no notice or compensation. Your work is not valued, and if they want to pressure you, they'll just make up things against you. No job stability whatsoever. Very tense work... environment. HR tell clients and your superiors what you tell them privately in their "open-door policy". Don't work here if you value your mental health.

    Advice to Management

Don't treat employees as kindergarden children, we're grown-ups. Don't make people feel they're replaceable, constantly threatening them with dismissal. Listen to what people have to say without negative repercussions, and most of all, don't lie and be condescending to employees.

I worked at Welocalize full-time for less than a year

    Pros

sick days, hotel accommodation for 2 weeks when relocating, parking available

    Cons

Poor management. Micro-managing (every email you sent needs to be checked by a manager first, every word you use in your reports is being questioned) No job security, awful atmosphere. Bad experience overall, so I resigned. Employees are not allowed to express their opinion and are being treated like children.

    Advice to Management

Make your employees feel valued, don't constantly remind them that they are replaceable and don't treat them as if they are stupid. Don't lie to your employees!

I worked at Welocalize full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Good location, out of city, just off M50, easy commute.

    Cons

Long hours, poor management and implied overtime. Female colleagues treated badly. Impossible KPI's and little cooperation from management and project stakeholders to meet deadlines. As a Senior PM I would deal with global vendors. Sales would set down undeliverable goals and vendors would trickle feed work to liquidate budget. Management only interested in their quarterly bonus margin. Some meetings were mostly... spent discussing personal issues and situations of people not present which was awkward. Multiple issues about my manager discussed privately with HR, then relayed back to me by my manager!!! Inexperienced HR unable to process simple queries ie. payroll, tax forms. Avoid.
