I worked at Wallace Myers International full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Lovely people, good team environment. Nice location. Flexible hours & good commission structure.

    Cons

Can be some push back from senior management but generally open for discussions. Probably walking into a desk with few clients but many good candidates.

I have been working at Wallace Myers International full-time

    Pros

At one stage everyone in the business was very happy and there was a lovely group of consultants within the business. There is great skill and process management the buildingWallace Myers will literally pay you whatever price you throw down to get you in the door, you will be held very much accountable to deliver though which is fair but they would pay ridiculous salaries and hence the targets set could in some cases be unattainable vs the consultants ability. This causes problems.....Nice location in the City centreYou get a free coffee once a month2 drinks at the Christmas party

    Cons

This will be read and the company will just say oh that was a negative employee that should have brought his or her concerns to us, they were. A previous review warns to reach out to prior employees and this is very sound advice. I would tell you to do the same and to reach out to multiple previous employees and be very very careful when dealing with the MD. The reason this review is rated so low is because of how they treat employees and constantly change the goal posts. I am not joking this guy will do whatever protects his pocket no matter what he previously promised i.e. commission, salary or healthcare and pension that were taken away on a whim. A few previous reviews (most positive reviews are false also important to highlight) call the MD a salesman but in my view his sell is just blatant lies, selling is not telling someone exactly what they want to hear when the reality is completely different and has resulted in many people arriving in and being unhappy and leaving within a short period of time. To give an example employees at Wallace Myers have not been paid for the last three months and have been told the business will not pay them their wages for another 3 months. One employee raised concerns over not being paid for working 40 hour weeks with daily reports and was fired. The owner is in my opinion running the business into the ground and his long tirade of deceiving, hoodwinking and hustling people is catching up with him. There are no long term employees within the building and when you speak to past individuals they have very, very interesting things to say about what happened and why during their employment. Whatever you are told at interview the real lay of the land is this, punctuality is key(this is a fair expectation) towing the line is what is expected, the MD has tapped his watch at people who take a coffee break for longer than is permitted, there is a lot of quiet glaring if you talk about anything other than recruitment and constant micromanagement phrased as "any update?" not an exaggeration this would be 3-6 times a day. If under performing senior members of staff can be very aggressive at times. They phrase normal things as great perks that set them apart but they are extremely transactional with their employees utilising a minimum everything approach in terms of investment for max return with a real catch you out mindset, there is no real search tools bar the very basics and every penny is pinched where possible. I have less issue with this one bar than the fact you are told the complete opposite at interview. It is a running joke about the extreme tightness... This is a genuine review. I have not mis represented at any point throughout, though I am sure the response will try to make this out a bitter review. Fair rebuttal, but it is also, sadly, an honest one. Ken, you threatened to be vindictive with my next employer if I went to Glassdoor but I think it unfair not to warn other people of how you acted during our time together. I hope you can try and take this on board and bring about change in your organisation.

    Pros

    lovely team central work location

    Cons

Don't want to be overly negative but read the below carefully if considering employment with Wallace Myers At interview you are essentially lied to to get you in the door, staff turnover is very high, reach out and ask any past employees why the left it will give you an honest indication and you can make your mind up then. senior staff can be very rude to some employees very passive aggressive A lot of the 5 star reviews are put up by interns speak to previous employees that is my only warning

We are disappointed you've chosen this outlet to vent your frustration and brought none of your concerns to us directly whilst you had the opportunity. We agree that anyone starting with a new business should reach out to team members past and present and would encourage anyone thinking of joining our team to contact any of us - we are easy to find on LinkedIn and look forward to talking to you.

I worked at Wallace Myers International full-time

    Pros

Some employees there were friendly and made you feel welcome

    Cons

No training or support given at the beginning or throughout the role. Objectives were never conveyed and a lot of the time you didn't know what tasks to work on or prioritise. No gratitude or encouragement was ever given by management. If you were loud and a good talker you'd get on OK as long as you made sales, overall it was a very poor experience and knocked confidence.

While you were not with us very long, you left in a very friendly manner without any mention of the above. For the entirety of your time here as a recruiter, you would have attended weekly training on a variety of topics and been given 1-1 advice and support. The objectives could not be clearer and everyone is reminded of those objectives twice weekly at our team meeting and again on a 1-1 basis. What%E2%80%99s disappointing about your comments is that every week of your time here, you would have been asked on a 1-1 basis if there were any concerns and if you were happy in your role. It%E2%80%99s very difficult to address issues if we are not told about them and would like you to have spoken up during your 1-1 or have spoken to one of the team. We are sorry this was such a terrible experience for you and you chose this forum to air you views to the business for the first time. If we can be of any further assistance, please contact us at enquiries@wallacemyers.ie
