      Pros

I imagine there were some well intentioned if not lofty ideals about treating employees with respect and nurturing a healthy corporate culture. But the endgame was probably always to sell the company on at the most opportune juncture. Which they did. Unfortunately, many people lost their jobs in the process and Telus hasn't been a particularly sympathetic buyer, yet again foisting American work culture values upon an Irish workplace and often in contravention of Irish labour law. There are the occasional social gatherings but again these have the feeling of being enforced and piecemeal.

      Cons

Too numerous to mention, but one thing that, despite it being contractually enshrined, should bother employees is the handling of Irish bank holidays. You are not required or legally obliged to work on them. There might not be a bank holiday in the US or Brazil, but there is one in your place of work: Ireland. Like many of these companies, they attempt to attract employees from overseas by selling Ireland and Cork as some sort of good time paradise with a perfect life balance. What they don't tell you for example is that Cork is grim. Very grim. It's not really a city, there's no functioning public transport to speak of and the cost of living is prohibitive. This influx into the housing market drives rental prices ever upwards without a corresponding increase in the standard of accommodation on offer. In short, like many of their ilk, VoxPro/Telus play the old bait and switch game. And while they profiteer from this contemporary form of white-collar slavery, many employees suffer from mental health issues without sufficient support provided by the employer, beyond the token.

      Pros

      - they hire almost everybody - you can find a diverse multitude of people - canteen wasn't actually that bad (but not cheap)

      Cons

      - management is absent or incompetent - pay is not adequate - no benefits (no health insurance or pension or anything else) - no remote option (too bad in the computer age) - HR absent or inadequate - Management will push you to consume all your days off, even if you are entitled to Bereavement leave or sick leaves, so be aware - Depending on which dep are you going to work, shifts are bad (unless you are in one of those deps in which you can work mon-fri 8-16)
