I worked at Valeo full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - Fantastic group of people to work with, both the recruitment team and hiring managers - Great support for me as new to recruitment - Enjoyed the company atmosphere, everyone was really helpful lovely to work with - Sound, down to earth and really great work ethic in the company

    Cons

    - More effort should be made to keep morale high

    Advice to Management

    - My advice would be to have more of a presence one the floor, and have more of a personal connection with engineers, developers, technicians etc to boost morale

I have been working at Valeo full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Some great staff in production, health insurance, pension scheme, decent pay, no major traffic, good parking

    Cons

It literally doesnt matter how much hard work you put in or how good you are at your job, you will never be rewarded. They promote from inside the company and base it not on how good you are at your job but how long you have worked there. They wont investigate problems properly leading to ridiculous gross misconduct/misconduct cases in HR with people involved in them that had nothing to do with the issue. Easy way... of dismissing people without having to pay out anything when they need to reduce numbers.

    Advice to Management

Open your eyes to the people doing the work, talk to the operators and supervisors and find out the truth about what's going on rather than finding issues and blaming everyone instead of who is directly involved. The company is a mess and its because you dont spend the time properly investigating the issues and realising it's not always an operator issue.

I have been working at Valeo full-time

    Pros

Friendly environment, fair work life balance

    Cons

Most of the managers are lacking management skills. High level of micro management applied.

    Pros

Interesting technology, varied work and projects.

    Cons

High pressure, disorganised environment, lack of clear personal development path.

    Advice to Management

Ask engineers at all levels what would make them more effective, and take clear action. Get the simple things right.

I have been working at Valeo full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Interesting Technology will be interesting to see if it can deliver a system product or just demo to SOP

    Cons

So call experts in senior management positions, openly promoting plagiarism and heros. No lessons learnt. Roles & Responsibilities ignored. Very poor R&D management team. Layered up with managers & directors. Time for a big clear out or get out.

    Advice to Management

Complete overhaul needed especially in Tuam R&D Building 4

I have been working at Valeo full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

You will get chance to work on core autonomous vehicle parking technology. You will also gain good working experience which will prepare you to solve any real world problem in Advance driver assistance solutions.

    Cons

Restricted mobility Or Growth. Some of project lack clear requirements and resources. You will let free to fight on your own without much support and you should prepare to take complete blame for any project failure.

    Advice to Management

When a member of team does something exceptional, reward him/her -- with a bonus, a small trophy or even just a vocal recognition. It's important to provide right feedback (either good or bad) to employees. The feedback should not change just based on project success are failure. Because, Some employee's might have done lot of hard work to succeed in project. It is important to recognise people and their... contribution to company.

I have been working at Valeo full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Could be good for CV...

    Cons

The worst company I had opportunity to work so far. You work in a ground floor building with tiny windows in Ireland, so 0% of sunlight. They clean it once a year, or if you are lucky that the big boss is coming, than they clean before his visit. No opportunity to grow. You are not valued as an employee. The coffee is not free, you can only get free toilet paper. Management, starting from your N+1, is messed up and... lacks proper education. Management is mostly assembled of local sheriffs. Salaries are not great. Rent in Tuam is expensive (1000+ EUR ATM). Food is also expensive, considering location.

I worked at Valeo full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Some great folk willing to help anytime. Canteen is handy. Products are interesting. No traffic.

    Cons

Where do you even start? Incompetent HR brushing all problems under the carpet. Daft policies. Thankless work. People leaving in droves for better things. Huge brain drain. More managers than engineers. More supervisors and glorified group leads than operators. Terrible old outdated ideology and even the "offices" (prefabs) Super hierarchical. Toxic at times. Money is well below average. No real... benefits. Actual dump of a stoney car park. Craters in the grounds that WILL damage peoples personal cars

    Advice to Management

Overhall your HR department. Useless bunch. Get rid of the 10x too many management. Stop making up jobs to move people around when they cant be sacked. Look after the people doing things and they will look after the company.
