I have been working at US Postal Service full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Good pay and plenty of overtime if you want to make extra money.

    Cons

middle management, micro management, inexperienced management. nepotism and cronyism

    Advice to Management

Just because someone wants to be management does not mean they should be. Why would you make someone a manager/supervisor when they can't even do the job they were hired for effectively? makes no sense.

I have been working at US Postal Service full-time

    Pros

The pay is good and overtime is usually available

    Cons

There is no training given. You are literally walked in the door put on a machine and expected to know what to do. The environment is oppressive, almost as if there aren't labor laws. Managers and Supervisors have no experience in management so things are very unorganized and there is bad communication. If you aren't family or friends with management expect to be talked down to.

    Advice to Management

Learn how to manage, this goes for top management as well.

Hours vary widely. Not good for family oriented individuals necessarily.

    Doesn't Recommend

I worked at US Postal Service full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good pay. Decent benefits for sure.

    Cons

Never know your schedule. They don’t care about you. The job is hard at first and takes months to really get a handle on. Literally every day is different. Watch out for dogs.

    Advice to Management

Be more caring. I get numbers need to be made but don’t make people feel worthless

I have been working at US Postal Service full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Good Pay, earn time off.

    Cons

Tons of overtime, usually announced 2 hours before getting off.

    Advice to Management

Actually address the issues of employees, and stop worrying so much about what the Union will say if you do. No one has any business watching Netflix on their phone when they should be sweeping.
