Not a good place to start a career!!
2 Dec 2021 - Anonymous Employee in Nashville, TNRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
1. Work life balance 2. Overtime payment
Cons
1. Zero career growth 2. Zero benefits unless you (for women only) gets pregnant in your tenure as they have 5 months paid maternity leave. 3. Minimum salary increase. Once I received less than a dollar/hr hike with decent ratings. 4. No recognition for hard work. No one cares ( including the team manager and the senior manager) how much one work hard it is never enough to get recognized and good ratings at the end. 5. I have met quite a few colleagues sitting in the same position and doing the same job for ages but management like to hire people from outside ignoring the potential employees they have within.

Experience is very good. Good learning. Good work life balance.

Good work life balance. Good learning being an investment bank.
Cons
Growth is stagnant after a time, specially after Associate Director level. Most of the employees are AD and all are trying for next role. They should create more levels in hierarchy.

Pros
Work life balance is maintained *most* of the time. Furthermore, colleagues are very friendly and there is great cohesion. Work-from-home is also permitted in many cases.
Cons
Projects guided by leaders that either don't understand the business well or have no idea about data science. These either don't have any business impact or are generally not well received. Furthermore, as a team member, your voice is not very well heard. Decisions are top-down only and the hierarchical structure prevails over all. Finally, career opportunities are greatly impacted by office politics. In my experience, there is no reward in going the extra mile and work hard as tenure is the main (and only) metric for promotions.

1990 called, they want their systems back
20 Feb 2021 - Associate DirectorRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Manageable work hours, work life balance
Cons
- Antiquated systems: Access, Quickbooks, Skype - No CRM??? Everyone uses spreadsheets to manage backlogs, pipelines, budgets. - New systems are not received well and not rolled out properly; Microsoft Teams, no one knows how to use; Zoom, only certain groups have it. - No one uses video, 1 yr into the pandemic I’ve seen my coworkers 3 times! 1 time, for a team meeting, 2 times for non work related activities. - They are still paying for all the dirt that went down in 09, everything needs to be approved and it’s a 3 week turnaround. Even internal materials need to be approved. - Pay is the absolute low end of what is quoted on GD. HR was completely wrong of the pay range and lead me into a weird low ball negotiation. - Not diverse at all, weird dynamic of trying to diversify by only hiring women but no racial mix up, probably hire woman to pay them less. - All IT is in India, no one local.

Experience and work life balance depends heavily on what kind of team you work for
Cons
Huge lack of transparency in what CSAs make. Compliance is getting more ridiculous by the year to deal with and processes are always changing because of that

Pros
For any big org, experiences change from team to team However, I am glad to have been part of the Data Science team in Operations. 1. Employee Friendly. Senior management is top class. They hear you, take your feedback, give time to execute your way and also are extremely cordial. 2. Work -Life balance. This is top notch. I have seen not just for me but for people in other teams as well. Work-Life balance can be easily maintained in UBS with occasional full throttle pressure situations which is understandable. 3. Employee growth: Trainings, shadow programs, internal job rotations etc are provided and recommended.
Cons
1. Given it is bank, some times we might work on slightly old technology and not the latest. But the risk is understandable. 2. The logistics process can sometimes become daunting. So much risk controls and segregation of duties can prevent from quick execution. However, I believe these cons are only there due to the nature of industry. Once we get hang of the process, eventually, things to get done.

Good opportunity to rotate but limited growth thereafter
1 Sept 2021 - Graduate Talent ProgramRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
-Nice culture where everyone is willing to help and managers are friendly -Well-designed office -Good benefits and work life balance, essentially this is a good place if you have a family
Cons
-Limited progression -Fixed bonus (which is low) for non front-office staff at the lower levels which is quite demoralising especially in light of good earnings -As part of the Graduate Talent Program final placement is highly dependant on headcount available

Excellent place to start and build your career
5 Sept 2021 - Investment Banking Summer Analyst in London, EnglandRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Open, collaborative culture, where everyone regardless of their title and age is supportive and willing to help interns learn and grow. The job was challenging and interns were thrown in at the deep end from the very beginning of the internship, which made it easy to feel like I am part of the team and contributing to daily responsibilities. The work-life balance was exceptional considering the investment banking industry.
Cons
None that I can think of
