I have been working at U.S. Army Reserve part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The reserves allowed me single handedly to go to college and not have to work full time.

    Cons

There are minor inconveniences to being in the army with family life and civilian career, however it isn't enough to not join.

    Advice to Management

    Don't be good idea fairies.

I have been working at U.S. Army Reserve full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Great benefits, travel, competitive pay, job training, and travel. Deployments.

    Cons

Deployments. And one could always be assigned to a bad unit or a unit with poor leadership. Many units require more that "one weekend a month," that can be good or bad, depending on your viewpoint.

I have been working at U.S. Army Reserve part-time

    Pros

Civil Affairs provides some good training opportunities. They sent me to DLI in Monterrey, CA for over a year of Chinese Mandarin training.

    Cons

A lot of focus on "readiness" and online training.

    Advice to Management

Let your people know of training opportunists when they come up.

I have been working at U.S. Army Reserve full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Job Security, can't find anything else.

    Cons

Everything else except for the job security, current employees will be mean to new employees, they will try to make fool new employees. The management support them because they know all the information exclusively.
