Lack of accountability in Leadership

Pros

Fantastic employees who really care about each other and desire to make a positive difference in the world.

Cons

There seems to be little to no true accountability for the executive leadership and they are not receptive to feedback from any level in the company. This leads to decisions being made without data or research or even support from the team to execute. Those who ask questions and raise concerns are dismissed or even ridiculed for not having enough "faith". This leadership style demands a culture of "yes women/men" and takes advantage of people's work ethic. Salaries are well below market average for recruiting and client management

Pros

- Exposure to service industry from a unique vantage point - Introduction and crash course in the world of recruiting - Unique exposure to the Chick-fil-A brand - Very unique concept as a company

Cons

Turas can be a good step for those coming out of college looking for their first job, unfortunately the shelf-life for most positions is 18-24 months. 90% of roles are strictly entry-level, so if you have ANY work experience, I would suggest looking elsewehere, because the pay and benefits are far too low. It's not a simple good or bad as much as it is what you're looking for. If you're looking for a place to grow, flourish and develop a healthy career, this would not be it. The biggest challenge I saw at Turas was the leadership and the culture. I'll save leadership for below. The culture was probably the worse I've worked at in my career. It's a bizarre fusion of ministry and business that hasn't figured out which one it wants to be, resulting in not being overly effective or fun at either. Turas is a place that has a mission it is deeply committed to, and you aren't it. That mission supercedes adhering to many basic busines principles as well developing a healthy company culture. To be more explicit: the business exists to execute the mission, they do not go in tandem. That has very negative impacts on the people and business at times. In terms of hierarchal importance, it will go: mission, business, client then employee. Don't be surprised when pay or benefits feel like scraps from table, bc at the end of the day, you are there to fuel the machine that is the business that executes the mission. If you enjoy being a cog in a machine, you'll love it here. Turas has a lot of potential, it really does. But when I left, I saw no signs of changing.
