Pros

Some capable people work here

Cons

- Tristar has zero training / onboarding in place. Instead of getting trained, you will be training them. - Tristar isn't familiar with the concept of time sheets. Quoting the Services Director " We have no idea which projects make money and which dont". - Tristar has a very small company mentality and are completely dependent on a one-way street relationship with PTC. - You will have to deal with PTC cloud massive incompetence. - Tristar does not offer a corporate credit card and they take 6 weeks+ to reimburse you which means you are out about 2-3k every month. - Tristar negotiates benefits on a case by case basis which means some people have more and some less ( vacation pay etc). - The Services Director will instruct you not to discuss your benefits with anyone due to their unethical and unequal employee treatment. - Tristar clearly underpays their employees as I was able to jump 30k+ on salary on the same position with different company. - Tristar fun fact: The HR lady is married to the owner, so any HR complaint goes straight to the shredder. - Tristar terminates their employees without cause and no notice (same day notice) despite having clearly generated value and results with client / project for extended periods of time. - Tristar is also dishonest with their clients as sometimes the migrations are subcontracted but they make the clients believe that their data remains in house.

Pros

Can't think of a thing.

Cons

If you sign with them you better know what you are getting into because leaving may be painful. If you want to leave you will find out exactly what they think of their employees. You can't expect to get any expense reports paid back to you. They put in their employee handbook that if you elect to leave the company you will only be paid minimum wage for the hours due to you since your last pay. I personally know of one person who had been there for years and after turning in his 2 week notice they promptly let him go. Second guy left his employer to work for them and on his first day he showed up and they said they didn't need him after all. If you travel for them be aware they structure the travel so the company gets the rewards points for your travel so you don't even get that benefit. Search on the managements names and legal records and you will see some interesting history of them trying to get out of paying what is due.

Great Place for Learning

Pros

I have worked at Tri Star over 5 years and no place is perfect. But I love to learn and I learn something new everyday. The work is challenging and ever changing. You must have common sense, self-motivation and a strong work ethic to survive here. We have 140 GREAT people who make this job great. Those who have come and gone go for a reason.

Cons

Change exhaustion - we change quickly to reflect market changes and flow of the clients. That is hard. Extreme growth - we have grown from 20-150 in my tenure and that is a start up and so the many org changes and structural moves are time consuming and hard. Being the top of the market and staying there is HARD work - trying to stay ahead of everyone clients and staff is difficult.
