I worked at Tourism Ireland full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Nice people to work with at lower levels

    Cons

CEO interested in himself only. only interested in PR for himself. Senior management are not working together as a team. Hard to progress. HR has no idea what they are doing. I saw lots of bullying that no one dealt with.

I have been working at Tourism Ireland full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

You get your pay cheque on time

    Cons

This company is still operating in the 70s. No plans of arriving in the 21st century in the near future. Very shady HR practices. HR never gives anything concrete in writing . They always call you so you can't hold anything against them. Nothing is beyond them. Discrimination, intimidation, outright lying.

I worked at Tourism Ireland full-time

    Pros

There were some opportunities for travel, and a lot of the employees are friendly

    Cons

Extremely hierarchical, but sometimes unclear in structure. Very poorly organised internally, a lot of management have poor interpersonal skills. Participants in the Global Graduate scheme were badly-treated, with poor pay, inflexibility in the roles, precarious situation in work. While the graduate programme promised hands-on experience, in reality this was often outsourced to third parties, and the graduates work mainly consisted of administration. HR were ineffective or frankly rude in many ways.

I worked at Tourism Ireland full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Wonderful company to work for. Head Office in Dublin incredibly helpful and supportive of information on how to promote the Island of Ireland around the world. Incredibly passionate team.

    Cons

Challenges in reporting to other hub areas instead of head office. Very strict in terms of marketing spend and expectations. Very low salary was the only reason for leaving.
