I worked at Tim Hortons part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I was able to be a leader and autonomous with getting things done. Gained a lot of experience serving customers.

    Cons

Some of the employees were lowly driven and abusive. I just stayed away from them and got my work done. The worse part is how hard the owners make the staff work. All for minimum wage. Absolute slave labor!

    Advice to Management

Treat your staff better. And reward and recognize staff that go beyond what's expected of them.

    Cons

Some in-store managers are mean to workers and play favourites

    Advice to Management

Make sure your in-store managers are equitable with how they treat their workers because some will overlook the bad habits that their favourite coworkers have

I worked at Tim Hortons full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Decent training, nice co-workers. Stores are clean.

    Cons

They expect you to learn A LOT for a min wage job. Especially when compared to dollar tree or Wilson farms. Management seems to think yelling and nit-picking is their primary job. One manager I had made a habit of trimming an hour or two off each employees paycheck each week. Since most employees were teenagers, many didn't notice the missing hours. Those who did had to argue with management to receive their missing time. Every. Single. Week.

    Advice to Management

The incentives are driving regional and local management to mistreat the workforce, bend the law, and cut corners in order to make quotas. Ease off, or find smarter management.
