Pros

Flexible schedule, experienced managers, smart coworkers. Free gym access. Think Shift means it when they say “family first”. If you need to leave the office for any family or personal matter - it’s never an issue. They pay for each employees CALM subscription and there’s a mental health committee. Also, through the Covid-19 pandemic, management has made it a TOP priority to keep employees working. Further; weeks before the province ordered it, the office was promptly shut down and everyone was encouraged to stay home/work from home. Every employee has the option to work from when they need to, so when this outbreak became serious - it was easy to adjust.

Cons

Agency life is faced paced, which can make finding the right people challenging. This can be hard on the stronger employees, as they can be left carrying a bigger portion of the work load.

Too many execs

Pros

Crazy job security if you play your cards right. And speak farmer.

Cons

So many people in the VP/Exec role because they move their buddies up but never out - all of them have been there for 10+ years. So many 'account managers' - the key strategy has always been to massage existing clients and never actually compete with good agencies. Less than half the company is actually producing strategy and work. I could be the only person out of six on a client call who would actually develops an ad campaign or website. CEO is a complete airhead, detached from the work, only 'works' on theories. Execs will happily make fun of him behind his back. Work actually produced is dull and uninspiring. They refuse to sign clients outside of farm space so everything becomes monotonous dribble then creatives try to pretend brashness and sexuality is the best way to connect with conservative family farmers.
