Do you need a job this badly?

      Pros

Like many of the other reviews: -50% off -Co-Workers (not management) are mostly nice. -Change in management recently make management more approachable.

      Cons

Not sure where to begin. If you actually like to be busy with different things all the time and you actually enjoy working hard this isn't for you (in my experience). While co-workers are nice they can very quickly and easily turn mean and LOVE to gossip and talk about people behind their back. Certain higher up people in the store just should not be there (sales-assistants could do a better job) and some are just plain dumb making the job a lot harder and frustrating than it needs to be. If you're in dire need of employment and don't mind standing around trying your best to look busy for 7.5 hours a day then yeah you should be fine. Serious, serious lack of communication between store management and company managers (Which is mostly not the fault of the store managers as they do try) as they seem to have 0 interest unless you're making the most money in the area consistently. Also a lot of undelivered and empty promises and base pay which will not change as its highly out of reach, for part-timers especially. To get the pay increase of €2 and hour you have to pretty much live in the shop and if you did half the work elsewhere you would be promoted much quicker. Very blatant favoritism.

      Pros

Great benefits which includes sick pay and paid time off

      Cons

      1. High turnover rate of district managers 2. Severe lack of communication from UK to US regarding policies, training initiatives, and vision for company 3. Upper management are workaholics and have no work life balance which trickles down to store level 4. Upper management 'dangle the carrot' and manipulate their employees to do three times their job description, but do not follow through on promotions and pay compensation 5. Workplace culture is non-existent and does not follow the UK branch's vision for company whatsoever

      Pros

50% staff discount ability to get free products for up and cross selling

      Cons

lack of communication between senior management and floor staff huge favouritism negatively affecting other employees senior management horribly big headed - might not even say good morning back and just pass by as if nothing happened constant supervision - feels like being in a nursery 'records of conversations' for most little, silly things - even if you run to grab a snack from the vending machine or go have water 'too many times' management being completely fake - smiling to your face and minute after talking rubbish about you behind your back if you work hard one time they will constantly stay on top of your head to push you work even harder every single shift 'management concentrated on money and any floor staff are only numbers to them' - this has been said by senior management before leaving the position usually very arrogant and rude management constantly moaning about every little thing demotivating everyone else to do their duties floor staff as well as management constantly changing due to the fact of how they are being treated most of the floor staff is sick of their jobs affecting and demotivating others i could carry on for hours but these are the main ones

      Pros

      50% off products, uniform allowance,

      Cons

lack of flexibility with hours blatant favouritism - absolutely no rewards or apprehensions for behaviour whether it is good or bad, the few opportunities that do appear are given based on out of work relationships between managers and staff not on actual performance. overall lack of care and communication regarding the professional environment. no idea of shared goals, store goals, etc. talks about daily/weekly targets everyday which means nothing to the average sales person and no other form of company engagement actually takes place. no reviews, I worked there for nearly 2 years and never had a review that in contract says will take place every 6 months. no pay rise either. except for the few favoured by management/friends with management which did have reviews and pay rises every 6 months. you will literally work hours unpaid - if youre working a close you will be paid until a certain time (let's say 8) even though you rarely leave before 8:30 and sometimes not even before 9. Most of the time you'll finish closing the shop floor and still have to wait 10-20 minutes for management to finish closing the tills - unpaid and locked in the store until they are satisfied with shop floor and done closing the tills. Bank holidays/overtime/nights not paid extra - regular hourly wage too many 8 hour contracts by students that just go in for their 1 or 2 shifts a week and clock off and don't care about the work at all and close to no full time contracts offered - so many great full time staff left and were replaced by multiple 8 hr contract students that didn't care. no real way to progress, the few and far between opportunities are given again to friends of management there's even a lack of communication between management - they all complain about each other on a daily basis
