      A good place to work for some...

      Pros

      Highest paying industrial work in Gastonia, two weeks vacation, decent benefits, paid holidays, overtime if you want it, there's a certain amount of mobility depending on your department.

      Cons

      Depending on your department there may be a lot of mandatory overtime to the tune of 6 and 7 days a week for over a year now. Again depending on your department, there may be no career mobility or very slight opportunity for advancement.

      Pros

      Paid well and had good benefits, but that's about it.

      Cons

      Too few technicians for the amount of work required on a 3-2-2-3 schedule. No reliable CMMS. Terrible safety standards. More corrective maintenance being completed than planned (proactive) maintenance due to refusal to afford downtime to Maintenance department. Lots of jury-rigging due to a lack of parts and little given downtime. And no support on nights from engineers and the maintenance lead, unless you call them, and even then, there's no guarantee for assistance. Breaks are never guaranteed, especially when there's a breakdown.

      Disdain for Safety

      Pros

      Great quality, important product. Above average pay. Secured entry and full time security. Catered holiday meals. Constant overtime.

      Cons

      Long, fast-paced 12 hour shifts, easy to burn out. MANY incidents where Supervisors and Leads were the CAUSE OF "incidents" relating to safety. Starved for replacement parts and safety equipment. Maintenance downtime is rarely proactive, only reactive. Operators do a significant amount of the production planning. Employee reviews are subjective opinion of limited scope and not based on facts.
