I worked at Spirit Airlines full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The management team is great Work from home option 4x10 schedule option available Free travel Company culture Benefits Employee engagement outside of the dept You don't have to see your co-workers every day

    Cons

Work more than 10+ hours a day, 5 days a week without additional compensation. Low pay Very negative job. Dealing with complaints consistently. Other departments don't treat you well. Director doesn't speak with the coordinators. The job requires a degree however, it is not needed to perform the daily job functions. Bad shifts High turnover because of all of the above

    Advice to Management

It's not far for employees in the department to work 16 hours days to complete their workloads. Also, the pay for this department is terrible and needs to be increased. Other depts need to treat Guest Relations better and work with them to assist the guests.

I worked at Spirit Airlines full-time for more than a year

    Pros

There no Pros to this job!

    Cons

Terrible Management Horrible working conditions Very low pay No safety concerns Does not comply with state/federal employment laws

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees better. They get the full blunt force of dealing with angry customers every time when Spirit fails to deliver the service customer pays for. Your workers are the ones in blistering cold, hot heat, unsafe working in environment and all management does whip employees like slaves.

    Pros

Flying benefits, flying benefits, flying benefits

    Cons

Very low pay, the supervisors are tasked to do the work of three people, overwhelming. Still not up to date with today's technology.

    Advice to Management

Your supervisors cannot raise the bar any higher.

    Pros

    - Free flights .. sort of .. lucky if your position is remote and that you can work from home - food truck Thursday’s

    Cons

    - flights may be free but you’re standby - discounts are just the same as Expedia - can’t trust too many in management - rules are always changing on a weekly basis - they lie and tell you there’s opportunity for growth but there isn’t, they want to keep you where you are in fear of you bettering yourself - low pay - often get flack because it’s a terrible airline - management pretends to welcome new ideas but always shoots them down - so much more .

    Advice to Management

    - listen to the actual ideas that can be implemented to help change things - pay us more - don’t shoot down other thoughts, comments and concerns - people with credentials should be paid more - don’t have favoritism - treat everyone fairly - stop changing rules and criteria on a daily basis it makes it hard to be on one accord

I have been working at Spirit Airlines full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Flight benefits are amazing, Some great people, fun workplace environment (when you have the time to enjoy yourself).

    Cons

discount airline means discount employees. Low pay and long hours. Since the airline is a nonstop operation, management places no focus/importance of having a work/life balance. HR promises opportunity for growth, however, it's all up to your manager. If your direct manager/supervisors need you, they will block your request to move into another department. Other than the flight benefits, the other benefits provided by spirit aren't all that great.

    Advice to Management

    - Focus on developing your employees. - Actually show that you care about your employees by providing decent pay and decent benefits. You can stop pretending you care by giving us "Popcorn Wednesdays". Un-buttered Popcorn in a bag doesn't pay our bills.

I worked at Spirit Airlines part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Training They take people without experience Get positioned and skilled in many different areas

    Cons

Extremely low pay At the FLL airport, the airline doesn't have enough employees to cover all the flights leaving in 5 minute intervals. A lot of passengers will be hit with unexpected baggage fees or miss their flight if they need special assistance. You will work with a LOT of angry customers. It's extremely stressful and not healthy to work in that environment.

    Advice to Management

Salary increase, broaden flight departure interval
